I am so sorry for my disappearance from the online world.  School has consumed my life recently.  I am also working on my undergrad thesis about... POTATOES!  :) exciting I know.  Anyway, that is why I have not been around to brighten up your world with my blogging but do not fret,

I will be back. 

I have so many things to blog about!  I have a huge list on my cute post it notes on my desktop.

I miss you all and I think about my blog all the time, probably more than I should.  Thank you for still checking in occasionally, I really appreciate it.  :)

Survival Tips

As a girl, life is more detailed.  there are a lot of things that we ladies do that doesn't even cross the man's mind.  So here are some of my life lesson tips for everyone out there in this beautiful blog world.

1. Nail Polish Tips! My fav.

A.   So I am a messy messy nail polish painter, which is surprising considering how much I do it.  I just get distracted and my hands don't quite follow directions.  So by the end half the bottle is usually on my fingers and toes instead of my nails.  It looks ridiculous and I always get made fun of.

My response: Don't worry! It comes off in the shower!

that it does my friends, that it does.  All it takes is a little bit of water to loosen it all up and then just take your nail or maybe a little cuticle pusher to clean off the polish that hath runith over the edges.  It comes off like magic! :)  Bam it looks just as good as the other girls.

B.    My next favorite tip for my tips (haha I love puns!)  is to blow dry them. I move around a lot and they get the ugly smudge or  It makes them dry much faster and it feels good.



C. I just learned this and it is so cute!  The Half Moon Mani.
Finally a use for those gross tasting little brown adhesive circles that go in notebook paper holes to reinforce them.  That is a long description for something so little, but I do not know what they are called.  Anyway. Use these cut in half and apply to bottom of nail after first color and then paint above it!

 So idiot proof and so cute! :)

Last but CERTAINLY not least!
D.   I have some old-ass* nail polish in my collection and sometimes they get really blobby and sticky.  Which is really sad because some of those old colors are the best! and not easily found again. So what I do is pour a tiny bit of nail polish remover into the bottle and shake shake shake.  Viola! your nail polish will be like new again!  Your Welcome.




2. Pick a "you" Scent
I like many other people love candles a lot.  I have quite a few and I blame it on my sister because she always had such great candles that I wanted my own collection.  Now I have it.

 I once read somewhere though that when choosing candles it is smart to pick one scent for one room.  So maybe get like vanilla for the kitchen and get a few candles of it.
The reason for doing this is because you won't get overwhelmed with a lot of crazy mixtures of smells, but also because it makes it memorable.  A lot of our memory has to do with smells so commit yourself to memory and pick a special scent just for you and use it everywhere!!!

My scent is usually apple woods or apply-cinnamon, or woodsy smells.  I like the smell of nature and trees so these are a perfect blend for me.

I recommend going to Michael's craft store for some cheap candles, they have great seasonal smells and lots of sales!
but Bath and Body Works is also great, but they are kind of pricey for the average poor college student
Also, Yankee candles, obviously.
and my new favorite is Pacifica.  They make great candles that smell so good and are made out of soy!  Highly recommended 


Well that only turned out to be two survival tips for life, but I'm sure there will be more to come.  But it was really like 5 things because I talked so much about nail polish.  :)

11/11/11

Once a century my friends.  I have been waiting for this day to come for years.  I think I joined the facebook group for it at least 4 years ago.  It is finally here.

The ultimate wish day!!!!! I am so excited!

I have been wishing at 11:11 for years and also convincing others too.  It is a very special time, I love it when things match up.  So today will be the most ULTIMATE wish day.  at 11:11 on 11/11/11 Everyone should make the most beautiful wish, for anything!  Because I believe that it may just come true. :)

Start thinking about your wishes everyone! It's almost time!  But don't worry if you miss the AM one just wait for the PM one.  :)

Great News!

Lots of things have been happening in the world lately.  I decided it's time to share some of them.

Number 1. Hugh Grant is having a baby!!! YES!, a little baby hugh grant.  I for one, cannot wait.  I love Hugh and everything he is in, he is just so funny and goofy.  He is the star of several of my favorite movies.  About A Boy, Love Actually, Bridget Jones Diary ( I know we all secretly love this movie) and oh so many more.


Hopefully his love child will be as fantastic as him.  I believe it is going to be a little lady.

Number 2.  Taylor Swift Topless Picture Scandal?
WTF. I don't believe it.  I took a peek at the picture, not to be creepy but just because I couldn't believe it.  No way is Tay dumb enough to do that.  I don't actually think it is her, and according to her lawyers it isn't.  This girl just doesn't have the cat like qualities that T. Swift is so famous for.

Number 3.  TITANIC in 3D. Yes Yes, they are re-doing and re-releasing this movie in 3D.  It is of course costing millions of dollars.  Totally worth it.  This is my dream.  young Leo, saving lives and taking names, in 3 dimensions.  Could there be anything better?  I doubt it, maybe Leo in real life.

Number 4.  Not about a Celebrity!  even better. TOMS is coming out with ballet flats in Spring of 2012!  I cannot wait.  I saw a preview pic, so cute.  I love TOMS but now I can love them even more with every outfit and dresses also!!! With the comfort of my normal ones, plus they of course are still ONE for ONE.  Now a little African Girl gets a pair of Ballet Flats and I will be happy to help.

I will be getting the Leopard ones first I believe.



Number 5.  All the winter nail polish lines have come out and they are spectacular!!!  China Glaze has some lovely glitters that I would love to get more Christmas (hinthint)  Essie's collection is AMAZING.  I already own the majority of them, I HIGHLY recommend checking them out.  Wet n' Wild also just came out with Winter Glitz nail polish, yummy, they are all sparkley.

What an exciting month it has been!!!

Kim K.: After the Wedding

Well, sadly less than a month ago I posted about Kim Kardashian's wedding.  It is now time to post about her divorce.  (her second divorce)

After 72 days of marriage the couple is filing for divorce because of "irreconcilable differences".  I am guessing he thought that she was a ridiculous fame whore and she loves the camera more than him.

Sorry Kris, it's okay though you are too down to earth for the Kardashian Klan or maybe you really are just after her money, in that case, bazinga!!!.

I feel good about the fact that my guess for under a 3 month marriage was correct.  I think I won a bet.

What's uber sad is that apparently Kris didn't know his lovely little wife was filing for divorce, he found out from the media.  Ouch.

My Strange Addiction

TLC has had some awesome shows over the years. Great ones such as 19 kids and counting, kate plus 8 - a husband.  Sarah Palin's Alaksa, The ever controversial Toddlers in Tiarras, I didn't know I was Pregnant, Hoarding: Buried Alive and my new favorite, My Strange Addiction.

This show is nuts! and amazing. and kinda of freaky.  but really funny all at the same time.  You know its a great show when it evokes so many emotions all at once.

So the episodes range from a people who eat dry wall to people who collect girl's hair from drains.  Weird I know.  But the most recent one I saw was about a lady who had been growing her finger nails for 22 years!  Snap.  that is insane.  She even took the time and money to get a manicure every week.  Woah.  It was like 250 dollars, A WEEK.  That is COMMITMENT.

So this leads me to my strange addiction. NOT AS WEIRD AS THE ONES ON THE SHOW.
It's Nail polish.  I love them.
I love reading about them, buying them, trying them on, wearing them, looking at them, blogging about them and thinking about them.  I can't help myself.
It's like personality in a bottle, my mood changes with the color I wear.  Bright Colors in the dead of winter can lift me out of the snow-blues.  A sparkle color can give me confidence for a presentation.  Its great.  :)
I feel like it's okay though.

So there it is, my strange addiction.

Magnetic Polish? FOR REAL!

Sorry to be blogging about nail polish again!!

I can't help myself. :)

So I was scoping out the Sephora website yesterday and I came across a new type of nail polish....

MAGNETIC NAIL POLISH!!!! in grey and purple. AMAZING. It is so amazing. I had to go to Sephora as quickly as I could in order to buy it. I'm in love. It is like magic happening on my nails. right before my eyes! and my magnet.

The picture just doesn't do it justice compared to what it looks like in person. I rushed home to repaint! Watch a video of the magnet do its magic here.

I can't even believe this is now possible. I can only imagine what the future of nail polish holds.

I HIGHLY recommend going to get this, a little pricey but worth it. It looks f-awesome. I'll try and not be too lazy and post some pictures of my own nails.

I also like the grey better than the purple, it shows up better. I'm sure at some point there will be a cheaper version in different colors. But this is REVOLUTIONARY. :)

ALSO- super user friendly. :) I thought it would be hard, but they make it easy for us polish challenged.

Nicki Minaj 2012!

I am a nail polish lover as well as a fierce Nicki fan. She's Fantastic! So unique and exciting. Her clothes blind me but at the same time I totally wish I had enough guts to wear that kind of stuff.

So the great news is....

an OPI NICKI MINAJ COLLECTION coming out in 2012!!!

I literally CANNOT wait. I saw some of the colors and they look phenomenal. exactly what I would expect and hope for from dear Ms. Minaj.

I think that save me and super bass look the best. But they are all so great I cannot decide.

Scarf Me

I love scarves. They are so delightful. They have also been in fashion lately, which is odd to me because I feel like scarves should ALWAYS be in fashion. That is how great they are. They are functional & cute, which is often rare in accessories. I plan to wear them all winter long.

BUT remember, scarves are now sexy in every season! So don't stop after this winter!! Just make sure to not wear wool ones in the summer. :) That would be silly.

There are lots of types of scarves. I will name some of my favorites.

Driving Scarves- So Classy- especially if paired with driving gloves and big-ass sunglasses.

Circle Scarves! SO MANY OPTIONS. I have an American Apparel grey/tyedye circle scarf and it has endless options. they can actually be transformed into dresses. F-awesome.

Fuzzy Warm Scarves- Winter gets cold. why not keep your ear-zies and neck warm from the cold.

Long Scarves that can be wrapped in a million different ways for diversity.

This post was inspired by the new UNICORN scarf that I will be getting from a great company called Snoozer Loser! I HIGHLY suggest checking them out. They have some really unique prints that are Super cute.

New Developments in Arrested Developments!

So hopefully all of you have already seen Arrested Development. It is an AMAZING show that was Amazing long before Michael Scott was tell "That's what she said" jokes. I still love The Office. :) but that's another blog for another time.

I was into this show a few years ago and have just rediscovered it. This wonderful show only had three seasons before it stopped. But it was one of Michael Cera's early ones. hes such a cute little man.

Now I hear there is going to be 10 more episodes and a movie coming out to continue the saga of the crazy Bluth Family. I CANNOT WAIT!

I highly recommend every one to watch it. :)

Its Fall!

So I love Fall, it is hands down the best season out of the four. No arguments, I don't want to hear it! There are many reasons why I love it. So many in fact that I feel the need to list them.

Number 1. My Birthday. - this doesn't even need an explanation.

1.5- LEAF CRUNCHING. My most favorite sport of all time. I like to jump on as many crunchy leaves as I can in a row. The sound they make makes me feel strong and happy.

2. Sweater Season!! I love sweaters. It is like a blanket is hugging you. A snuggie you can wear to class and people won't judge you for.

I personally like to incorporate sweater thursday into my life.

Just wear one every thursday. Make it an epidemic.

3. BOOTS- BOOTS BOOTIES ANKLE BOOTS KNEE HIGHS SUEDE LEATHER RAIN BOOTS

4. The crispy air. Its so refreshing, it makes me want to sit outside on a porch swing with a good book and a vanilla latte. It is so nice to breathe in. Pure and delicious.

5. Shorter Days. Finally.

6. Awesome Awesome Holidays. Thanksgiving anyone? I like to eat myself into a coma. Pumpkin Seeds. Yes please. Endless amounts of candy to rot my teeth.

7. Gold. I want to wear it. All the Time. and I mean SPARKLY GOLD.

soooo many more reasons. :) But basically. It is Amazing. and I plan to take more walks in my sweater and boots with my van. latte so I can crunch leaves and breathe in the crispy air.

Lets Talk About Nail Polish!

I love nail polish. I love it so much I have had to get 4 different baskets for my ever-growing collection.

I am known for it. People come from all around to use them and ask for my almost expert advice. I am a nail polish guru. Its probably because I paint my own every other day. Its an addiction. A dirty addiction.

It started out as a simple thing. Whenever I have a bad day I used to go shopping, I am a shopaholic, I am not afraid to admit it. To curb this terrible problem I decided to buy one or two nail polishes from walgreens. I always felt better after. Soon my collection grew (I guess I had a lot of bad days)

and then it just kept growing.

and growing.

Into the +75 that it is now. I can almost remember all the colors I have too! Because I am forever buying new ones.

My friends love this, I don't think my mom does though and she is sadly the person paying the cc. bill. Sorry momma.

Sadly now, my tastes in nail polish became classier and more expensive. you know, O.P.I and essie and china glaze, all those good ones that are under ten dollars but definitelly more than a few. This wouldn't be such a problem if I didnt feel the need to buy two or 3 every time I go. Oh well. :)

So some tips from the self proclaimed nail polish Guru. :)

ADD SOME SPARKLE!

don't be afraid to shine especially in the grey days of fall.

Gold might be a good one to start with.

PLEASE... do try a different color on your toes than the one on your fingers. It adds variety and spice. :)

Gem tones! are totally in right now, so find your regal side and get glam with a deep purple or an emerald green. Maybe a delightful ruby red.

BONUS tip. If you are feeling daring, try my favorite new look.

Two different shades of the same color on each hand. For example a medium purple on your right hand and a dark purple on your left. DO use the same finish, ex. matte needs to be with matte and sparkle with sparkle for this.

Hello World

To anyone that reads this: Which is probably about 1.5 people. The .5 is when I force my manfriend to read it.

This blog will now be officially reserved for f-awesome things.

Only if something is truly great will I honor it in my blog. This is meant to make people happy and smile. :) Just a little day brightener with something that is great to know about or to see. A little piece of trivia to impress people with.

Rainbow Hunter

I saw the news about the first ever proven quadruple rainbow! How great is that!!!! :D nothing could be more exciting.

I would love to put the picture up but sadly it was only of 2 rainbows, because of how the light reflects the quad rainbows end up on the other side of the sky.

BUT! I do have this amazing picture! A RAINBOW SPECTRUM!

I also believe I found a future profession. A Rainbow Hunter. How amazing, I would get to follow rainbows and see them all. I already would consider myself an amateur rainbow hunter. I know my rainbow weather and my friends can vouch for this considering I have a rainbow watch text list.

is this not wonderful! It totally is. I love the atmosphere and the beautiful things it can do. This is all natural and perfect. Just like us. :)
